“My advice is to apply the concealer where you need it and then blend it all together so that it fades naturally to the rest of your makeup or complexion,” Pattinkin said.
That Only where you need The bit is extremely important: “It will make your skin tone look weird if you apply it to skin that doesn’t need correction,” he continued. Meaning: There are different types of undertones throughout your skin, including a few tones in the small eye area. Only one color coating over the entire surface area can make the skin look flat and one-dimensional. When you only remove faded areas, your skin is naturally radiant and even looks — as if you have clocked a full eight hours.
Grab the concealer of your choice (or snatch one of our favorites), and dot on the concealer clearly instead of a wide swipe, covering most (but not all) faded areas. She suggests letting it sit for a moment so that the formula can oxidize, then soak a small beauty sponge – like Patinkin’s Pure Luxury Makeup Sponge – and bounce it on the skin to blend.
After you hide those dark circles, Pattinkin prefers to brighten the area by applying an extra heat concealer in the inner corner: “You can get a little pop without risking any smoke,” he notes. Then to extend the wear time, he recommends dusting with a half-shade lighter setting powder than your foundation (some don’t hit too much brightness).
